As I'm rapidly approaching my quarter century bash, all the silly "I'm getting too old" titles come into mind. Ah! I found a grey hair (no joke!)....ah! I have joint pain! Ah! My body creaks and cracks for no apparent reason! CRAP! I'm getting OLD! Then I think......really Heather?! Don't live beyond your years! I'm fine. I may sound like something of a wild firecracker when I get out of bed each morning, but I really need to quit sweating the small stuff. So...I throw those titles out the window.
I LOVE love. It is my favorite subject to write about. And food, come to think of it. If you want to talk about either of those things, let's clear out a week...today Jenna and I spent nearly 3 hours running errands, having SO much fun being silly girls getting hungry at the grocery store and having to draw the line at corndogs when it came to erroneous (yeah, I used that word) purchases. LOVED it. As I prepare for my next departure to AZ, Jenna is preparing for houseguests. Our house smells like heaven. She has been cooking and cooking and cooking...and I'm supposed to be doing chores!! What?! You know I can't resist food, Jenna! I can't pack right now! Let's talk all about what YOU'RE doing. Ginger, and garlic, and coconut milk, oh my!
I meant to go off on some witty titles about love, and got carried away by food. ha! I miss the kitchen....school + work + work + school has kept me away....
If you keep reading....there's a picture reward at the bottom. If you scroll down now.....you're probably not missing much....I have a tendency to ramble.
This week, was, in a nutshell...bittersweet (another potential blog title option....combine that title with a chocolate afterthought and I'll be going for hours). I'm sure the hospital crowd that reads this can relate...we've been SLAMMED. I'm not quite sure what the heck is changing around here, but I feel like the last 6 months, or so, have been some of the busiest we've ever endured in the Good Sam OR. We are still down an AA tech, making my department, specifically, very short staffed. Eating has been sort of a distant daydream lately at work. But it's still rewarding......we're still helping people, and I can't complain about that. AND!...I'm finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with class and CNA stuff, but even then...I'm a few weeks out. I usually am so excited for March, but as I look at what I have looming in my near future...I'm starting to worry. Insert the BITTER portion of that nutshell statement here. :) It kind of all started hitting me this week that although I've been thinking my life is quite hectic as is...it's about to get worse. GAH! As long as I keep reminding myself that this is short lived...I think I'll be alright. :) The sweet part about this week though was the constant encouragement from the people I'm surrounded by. I can't praise my friends and family enough for being so wonderful. Jenna told me tonight that my gift is 'encouragement' and I just think that's silly. If I don't express my gratitude........I'll explode. Yuck. Ha...so really my words of praise are for my benefit? To avoid explosion? Oh dear.
I just want to give an overall thanks to the people I interact with daily.....you really are making my life so perfect.
I leave for AZ again tomorrow. My grandfather is turning 90! Holy moly! He's a spry dude....probably would slap me silly for calling him 'dude', but I don't think he knows much about the blogging world........or the internet for that matter....
It isn't supposed to actually be that outrageously nice there, but I'll take any vitamin D I can get at this point. Spring, where are you!? Pictures from the week, or so.......
Hey, remember when it snowed today!? FUN.
Hung out with Ava, as usual. That's her ketchup spoon there....aka a french fry. So cute.
Candace, Glori, and I at the space neighbors show. It was red themed!
John N. on the left! He's such a badass.....he knows it. Space Neighbors.
Made pizza this week........for my first time ever, by myself, in the oven! This isn't it, but it's a visual. I think Jenna took pics?
And a reminder as to what the oven looks like.....it was so fun! Imagine this though at night time and in the cold! :)
I have the travel bug again.....going through old Italy pictures. One of my favorites of me in a narrow alley. Who wants to pool some $$ and get outta the country?
Maybe I'll go to Africa with Rubes and Lewis....
kidding parents...
or am I?
:)
See ya next time....
